Gerry's Independent bunkhouse

Blogs on Scottish Munros and other tales from walking trips... by Munro Bagger 'Normal Neville' Wiseman & Co

This work of art features Gerry Howkins, founder of the first independent hostel and private bunkhouse in Scotland, affectionately known as Gerry's Hostel. The larger version of the artwork on the same page shows the foreground which features some of the quirks of Gerry such as his herbal remedies and flip flops. There are stories and songs about the Legend of Gerry who is part of munro bagging folklore with his remote hostel between Achnashellach and Achnasheen

If you think Gerry's Hostel and private bunkhouse should be part of Munro Bagging Legend then share this song!

I've already written a blog about memories of Gerry's Hostel and also had an article published in this month's The Munro Society Magazine about him. But now I've also had a go at writing him into Scottish Munro Bagging Folklore through the medium of a song with video- The Legend of Gerry's Hostel.
